We’d like to share with you a special moment from one of our tenants, Audrey.

Audrey has painted two pieces of artwork that are now displayed in our Modbury office, ‘Housing SA Journey’ and ‘Bush Medicine’.

‘Housing SA Journey’ shows the journey of people from the APY Lands to Adelaide to seek housing, support and assistance, reflecting the changing landscapes along the way.

‘Bush Medicine’ depicts medicine leaves, a motif that is very important for healing. Bush leaves can be used to treat bites, wounds, skin infections and rashes.

Audrey is proud Pitjantjatjara woman from the state’s far north and a passionate painter who has displayed pieces at Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute and has major works installed across buildings in Adelaide.

Audrey also actively works as a translator for her language and has illustrated a series of children's books written in both Pitjantjatjara and English.

A big thank you to Audrey for sharing these wonderful pieces with us!

Well done to our staff who have built a great relationship with Audrey over many years.
