Due to the extreme heat forecast across the state this week, a Code Red response will be activate in Victor Harbor, Murray Bridge and Mt Gambier from tonight until Saturday (20 Feb) to provide extra support for people experiencing homelessness.
We're working closely with homelessness service providers across SA to ensure additional support is available to keep the most vulnerable in our community cool, hydrated and out of the heat.
The Homeless Connect SA service continues to operate 24 hours, 7 days a week to connect people in crisis to advice, services and emergency accommodation.
Anyone who is experiencing or at risk of homelessness is encouraged to call Homeless Connect SA on 1800 003 308 at any time, wherever you are in South Australia.
We urge everyone to take care, keep cool and please check on family members and friends, particularly those who may be more vulnerable during periods of hot weather.
