River Murray flood relief centre established

Emergency Relief Centres have been opened at the Berri Senior Citizens Club and Mannum Football Club for people impacted by the River Murray flood.

Located at 9/12 Crawford Terrace, Berri, and 28 Belvedere Road, Mannum, the centres are open 9am-5pm seven days a week.

Services at the centres can assist with immediate needs such as:

  • Issuing of Personal Hardship Grants
  • Private rental assistance and emergency accommodation
  • Psychosocial support
  • Food relief
  • Support for primary producers
  • Financial counselling
  • Legal services
  • Community outreach

The SA Relief Information Line remains open 9am-5pm seven days a week on 1800 302 787

Replacement houses project team making progress

West Coast Aboriginal replacement housingOur West Coast Aboriginal Housing Replacement Program has been forging ahead.

Nine ageing three-bedroom houses in the Yalata and Koonibba communities near Ceduna are being replaced with new four-bedroom homes to provide better facilities and better accommodate larger families.

An Aboriginal builder and a local builder from Ceduna, RJS Building and Evco Building, are engaged in a consortium arrangement to deliver the houses over a 12 month period.
