This week, our residents at Tika Tirka, came together for a BBQ to celebrate Reconciliation Week and recognise their maturity and resilience during this difficult period.

We are very proud of all our residents and the sense of community at Tika Tirka.

The willingness of the residents to learn new skills, take responsibility for keeping living spaces clean, adapt to studying online and work together to empower each other has been wonderful to see, and really captures the 'In This Together' spirit of Reconciliation Week.

By changing room arrangements and introducing strict cleaning protocols, staff ensured that each resident could continue studying and maintain social distancing as they transitioned to online learning.

Residents have also been kept informed of the latest health advice and connected with local Aboriginal Health service, Nunkuwarrin Yunti, for culturally-based health and wellbeing support.

Shortly, we'll be inviting applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to come live at Tika Tirka - stay tuned!
