A recovery centre to provide assistance and support to people affected by recent bushfires will be opened at Lobethal next week.

The centre will open at Fabrik Arts and Heritage in the Old Woollen Mill, 1 Lobethal Road at Lobethal, on Monday 6 January.  Its operating hours will initially be 7am to 7pm, and this will be reviewed over time and adjusted based on community demand.

The centre will provide a range of assistance to people affected by the fire, including providing advice on their recovery, care and support, assistance with accommodation and administering grants.

The establishment of the recovery centre means that the relief centres currently operating at Highbury and Mt Barker will be closed. The Highbury centre will close at 7pm on Sunday 5 January and Mt Barker centre will close on at 7pm on Wednesday 8 January.
