The State Government is committed to working with the South Australian Aboriginal Community and partner organisations to develop an Aboriginal Housing Strategy that will improve housing outcomes for Aboriginal people across the state.

This work has reached an important milestone, with the release of a tender to select an organisation to coordinate engagement around the new strategy. Engagement will be critical to a successful strategy. It is vital that the voices of Aboriginal people and communities across the state are captured and considered as the new strategy is developed.

A select tender to identify an Aboriginal Business Enterprise (ABE) to coordinate this engagement was released earlier this week. It is hoped that this tender process will be finalised shortly with the successful organisation announced in April. The successful organisation will work closely with SA Housing Authority and members of the Aboriginal Advisory Committee to plan and undertake the state-wide engagement on the new strategy.

More information about the Aboriginal Housing Strategy, including engagement opportunities, will be available in coming weeks.
