SA Housing Trust is committed to creating accessible, inclusive and equitable services for all South Australians. Our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2026-2030 outlines the actions we will take to reduce barriers, improve accessibility and strengthen how we support customers, staff and communities living with disability.
The Plan aligns with the Disability Inclusion Act 2018 (SA), the State Disability Inclusion Plan 2025-2029, and Australia’s Disability Strategy 2021-2031, and has been shaped by extensive consultation with people with lived experience, community organisations and SA Housing Trust staff.
More than one‑third of SA Housing Trust homes are lived in by people with disability. Our DAIP sets out a clear commitment to ensuring our housing, services and workplaces are accessible, inclusive and responsive to the diverse needs of our community.
About the DAIP
The DAIP provides a four‑year roadmap to strengthen inclusion across our organisation. It focuses on:
- improving access to information, services and built environments
- enhancing customer experience, particularly for people with complex needs
- increasing accessibility in housing design and property redevelopment
- building staff capability and confidence
- improving accessible communication
- strengthening partnerships with community and disability organisations
- embedding inclusion in our governance and decision‑making.
The Plan aligns to the outcomes of the State Disability Inclusion Plan, ensuring consistency with whole‑of‑government commitments.
