The South Australian Housing Trust (the Trust) manages about 33,000 public housing properties, offering low-cost housing to those at risk of homelessness, including specialised housing for Aboriginal peoples. Additionally, community housing, managed by independent organisations, provides housing for specific community groups. The Trust has an interest in around 12,000 community housing properties, managed by these providers.

In South Australia, around 43,000 households live in both public and community housing, designed to support individuals and families in need.
