We are creating a number of high-quality housing development projects that are rejuvenating land across the State and creating new, connected, well-serviced, appropriate and sustainable mixed-use communities.
We have a pipeline of urban renewal projects, in some cases replacing old houses with new homes, creating better quality social housing, and more housing choices and affordability. These projects have a significant social, economic, and environmental impact on the community.
The master-planned projects are large-scale residential developments that create diverse, sustainable, and inclusive communities for people of all income levels, backgrounds, and abilities, including by expanding the availability of Government-owned public housing. They incorporate sustainable design principles and features and promote social inclusion and community cohesion.
These projects stimulate private sector investment and provide an opportunity to address infrastructure issues on a neighbourhood scale, including stormwater and traffic management, electricity and water supply, street lighting, and public realm upgrades.
Our projects are located near the Adelaide CBD and offer a variety of amenities and housing options. They are helping to revitalize suburbs by improving the quality of housing, open spaces, streetscapes, and infrastructure.
SA Housing Authority’s variety of housing options with the urban renewal projects include:
- Public housing, to be retained by SA Housing Authority
- Community housing, managed by the private sector
- Affordable house and land packages, to be sold to eligible HomeSeeker SA buyers
- Land allotments and house and land packages, available to the open market
- Significant urban renewal projects are currently underway at Woodville Gardens, Blair Athol and Playford, with Felixstow and Morphettville nearing completion.
