A key part of the Taskforce’s work was to ensure that discussions and decision-making was guided older women with lived experience of housing insecurity. The Taskforce also sought feedback and input from the community on this important issue.
An online community engagement was undertaken, giving South Australians the opportunity to contribute their views on improving housing security for older women.
The community voice engagement encouraged people to share success stories about improving housing security and provided an option to complete a survey structured around four focus areas. The survey sought to understand:
- Which examples respondents felt was most important to them through selecting their top three;
- If there was anything the Taskforce should consider about the identified examples (i.e., risks and benefits); and
- If there were any other ideas not mentioned that the Taskforce should consider.
The engagement closed on Wednesday 28 June 2023.
