Our Housing Security for Older Women Taskforce, which included women with lived-experience, has delivered the Improving Housing Security for Older Women report, detailing 40 recommendations across four focus areas – new supply models and land use, private rental, services and social housing.
With older women aged 55 and over one of the fastest growing populations experiencing homelessness, the recommendations include:
- Exploring co-housing and co-location options
- Intervention and prevention
- Encouraging build-to-rent projects
- Making it easier to rent granny flats and studio apartments
- Improving and increasing social housing
