Ruby's Reunification Program, a free, leading Uniting Communities family reunification program, has added a fifth bedroom to its northern Adelaide site, thanks to the funding of $85,000 from the SA Housing Authority (the Authority), which will support an additional 15 families each year.

Uniting Communities leases four Authority homes to provide a safe place for Ruby's participants across northern, western, and southern metropolitan Adelaide and in the lower Limestone Coast region. Over the last four years, the Authority provided $16.2 million to Uniting Communities to fully fund Ruby’s.

Ruby's works with 12- to 17-year-olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to conflict with their family. The program welcomes young people who are still living at home or away from home. They provide a safe place to stay, while family members receive counselling support to help resolve the conflict and bring the family back together.

Ruby’s also visit young people and their families in their local community and offers flexible and accessible counselling services.

While engaged with Ruby’s, the program also supports young people to achieve their goals in education, training, work, and connecting with their wider community.
